A patient using the MedLifeLog platform grants explicit permission to their primary care physician and selected specialists to access their medical records stored on the Hyperledger blockchain. Other healthcare providers, insurers, or unrelated parties are not granted access without the patient’s consent, ensuring strict control over data ownership and privacy.

Transparency and Auditing

A patient requests a history of all access and modifications made to their medical records in the past year. With Hyperledger’s transparent and immutable ledger, MedLifeLog can provide a complete and auditable log of data access and changes, demonstrating the integrity of the patient’s medical history and compliance with data protection regulations.

Interoperability and Data Sharing

When a patient visits a specialist at a different healthcare facility, their medical records stored on the Hyperledger blockchain can be securely accessed with the patient’s consent. The specialist can review the patient’s complete medical history, enabling informed decision-making and avoiding the duplication of tests or treatments.
